Welcome to my Newsfeed and Newsletters from Blyth

DON’T GET CONFUSED. THIS IS NOT ABOUT FEET!
INTRODUCTION
It might say Consutlingfootpain (CFP), but that is because it is still a great launch site for my articles on my web pages. This page has nothing to do with feet… The traditional mailing newsletter is often sent with annoying incursions into your inbox. I am using CFP to set up a system where you only read the newsletter if you want. And if you would like to stay in touch, then that’s easy; all you have to do is write to me at rcblythauthor@gmail.com. Anything highlighted in BLUE is clickable.
One Author 2 Names
I am a professional author who writes in two media formats: factual and fiction. So, if you see my name as David R. Tollafield, you know it’s me as well. If you are interested in more clinical aspects of health, consultingfootpain (CFP) was set up alongside my formal website: davidtollafieldauthor.com. Of course, if it is fiction, then stick with me as Rob Blyth.
Hopefully, now that any confusion can be dispensed with, you might ask what you can gain from a newsfeed. I’m a bit of a creative dabbler, and I like to experiment. My first book was a children’s book. By the time I had written it, the grandchild had outgrown the book, but I was fortunate to have my niece’s daughter find value in an audio recording I made for her book. Sadly, as time moved on, this work, although enjoyable, became mixed up with other projects. Yes, you’ve guessed it—books generated from the factual author.
My nine short stories came out in 2021, and by October 2024, I decided they should have just one name: RC Blyth. In 2023, I started researching an entire novel, which, despite having been completed, is still in the draft stage. You can read more about this in my ongoing news. It was somewhat amusing to see a data report on my output. Since 2018-2024, I have written 358,000,000 words! Not quite a billion, but that seems like a lot of words and a lot of writing, but it includes all forms of writing, including posts and emails. Scientifically, we can write it as 378-8, which cuts out all those zeros.
Science and research were my foundations for forty years before I retired to become a full-time author. In the newsletters, I discuss the background of my stories, my thoughts about writing as I develop, and some of the flaws with publishing. My passion is historical thrillers with set periods, and I use my medical knowledge to embrace some of the facts and features associated with the stories I tell.
Whether you are an ardent reader or want to follow me for just interest, it doesn’t matter. If you write to me at rcblythauthor@gmail.com I will always reply. Together with feedback, I can craft newsletters to match readers, so with your help, we can grow together. If you are a budding author, buddy up, although I would point out that my genres may not be to everyone’s taste. If you haven’t sampled my free Christmas book (put on Amazon at £0.77), then FREE COPY-The Rod of Blackthorn as it is free.
As a present for 2024, I gave my wife Jill this short 3000-word story about dragons and fantasy. It can be accessed above or from my landing page on my rcblyth.com site. A slightly longer story, a novella called Double-Crossed, will be available shortly from 1st February 2025.
Well, it is good to have made contact. Please write and enjoy my articles —WRITER’S ANGLE, as you will find some material about writing ideas, including the difference between a novella and a novel, for example—just one last thing. While I do publish with formal publishers, I also self-publish under Busypencilcase Communications, so you will find many of my books published through Amazon print with BPCC.
